1 Thessalonians 2 – Be Bold

“But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.” 1 Thessalonians 2:2

The world is easy to get along with, that is until you stand in the name of Jesus. Sadly, this world is in opposition with God, and in return, God is opposition of this world. It should be of no surprise, the very moment you declare Jesus as your savior, you experience persecution.

After all, if the world persecuted and hated Jesus, they will persecute and curse those who speak about Him. Peter warned the Christians that they should not expect an easy path after committing their lives to Jesus. Peter wrote, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you (2 Peter 4:12).

Are you embarrassed to share the gospel? Are you timid to speak Jesus’s name? Are you afraid others will think your weird or odd because you want to talk about God? I know it can be difficult to speak about the Lord’s things, especially when this world thinks negatively towards the righteousness God. But there is an excellent reward for every Christian who ministers, despite what people may say or do to them.

May God give you the strength to be faithful, no matter how people may view you.
