1 Thessalonians 3 – Love

“and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you” 1 Thessalonians 3:12

Showing love isn’t always easy. In fact, at times it’s very hard depending on the circumstance. Showing God-Like love maybe the one test most of us fail. What is this love?

Patience: patience with your “character builders.” You know, those individuals who are challenging to work with.

Long-suffering: patient to wrath towards those “individuals” who are rude, mean, or even evil.

Kindness: Being kind to those in need, even when you don’t have the time, the resources or the energy to do so. But you give of yourself and whatever you may have, for Christ sake.

That’s love. And not just any kind of love, God-like love. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:30

Don’t be mistaken. Love isn’t always an emotional feeling. In fact, God says that love is obedience. In the book of John, he writes, “if you love me, you will follow my commandment and keep them.”

God showed His love towards you, and He has requested that you in-turn show your love towards to humanity, for Christ sake.
