Acts 11

Acts 11

“And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose” Acts 11:21-23

In the early church, God was moving mightily with the Holy Spirit, convicting men of the wrong they had done. The Lord was using simple men to preach the good news. The early disciples witnessed thousands of converts and they were encouraged to remain faithful.

Although we live in a carnal age, we must not be dismayed. Despite what we may believe, God is still in the business of saving souls. The Bible says that God “desires that no man perishes but that all receive eternal life.”

God is looking for a few good saints that will not drawback under pressure but will speak boldly about Christ. May God give us the strength to “remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose,” for where there is great sacrifice, there is great reward.
