Acts 5

Acts 5

“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, ‘We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.’ But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’” Acts 5:27

How many times have we listened to what people had to say and disregarded God? How many problems could we have avoided if we would have simply taken heed the voice of God? How often we could have prevented major stumbling blocks in our lives if we had simply obeyed God?

Accepting the orders of our Elite Commander is part of being a good soldier. Orders are provided to help guide the warrior and maneuver through the battlefield. The commanding officer’s duty to is to ensure the safety of those in his charge and to ultimately accomplish the mission.

You have been given specific orders: “study to show yourself approved unto God,” “pray without ceasing,” “evangelize unto the end of the world.” Are you following those orders? Are you busy obeying God’s will, or have you been lost in the demands of a corrupt world? May God give us strength to follow orders and obey our Commander, even if the cost comes at a great price.
