Acts 8

Acts 8

“Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’ This is a desert place. And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship.” Acts 8:26-27

Philip was likely going about his business until he heard a voice—the voice of an angel sent by God. He commands is to go and preach the gospel to an Ethiopian eunuch.

Had Philip been consumed with all the competing distractions of world, he might’ve missed the orders, from God to lead this man to God. Have you ever thought about how many opportunities you may have missed on behalf of God’s service? How many rewards have we lost simply because we were too busy with the priorities of the world?

May God grant us wisdom with the valuable time we have so that we may use it wisely. The fact is, our time is short. However, the mighty Lord’s return is near!
