Galatians 6 – The Stronger One

“Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”Galatians 6:1

Are you in a situation where someone has seriously stumbled? Perhaps they did something incredibly foolish, and now they’re in a terrible place? Or maybe that person has fallen into sin; an addiction towards sexual behavior, drugs or alcohol. They’re in a state of depression, and it appears that they’ve become a slave to their sin. Ultimately, this person has been “overtaken in a fault.”

The word of God calls the spiritually mature to help restore the broken spirits who are among us. This is to be done with the “spirit of meekness” which means with humility and patience.  This approach is far different from that of an egotistical spirit.

It’s an inevitable reality what we will all find ourselves in a difficult situation. Therefore, look for those who are struggling. A word of encouragement can go along way. After all, when you find yourself before a mountain that appears impossible to climb, God will send someone your way. And by God’s grace, they will restore you back to spiritual health.
