John 6

John 6

“When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. But he said to them, ‘It is I; do not be afraid.’ Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.” John 6:16-21

Life can place many challenges before us. Often times, the ride isn’t smooth sailing. The journey through this world can be a daunting task. At times, life can be very frightening. The waves of defeat and discouragement can even leave a battle tested warrior feeling hopeless.

The disciples were far from shore, traveling in calm seas. Then suddenly, “The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing.” Without doubt, they began to feel helpless in the midst of the powerful and crashing sea. When all seemed bleak, suddenly they heard the voice of the Savior, “It is I; do not be afraid.”

Are you experiencing some crashing waves? Behold, your Captain is near, ready to save, even in your darkest hour.
