Luke 19

He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” Luke 19:40

This is an awesome verse in scripture. In a simple yet powerful response to the Pharisees, Jesus relays creation’s recognition of His true identity. There are numerous verses in both the Old and New Testament where we are told that nature and all of creation obeys and praises our God. They know and recognize who He is and His rightful place. Here are a few powerful reflections. Embrace and be of good courage!

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.                                                                                                                                                         Psalm 19:1

And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him?”                                                                                                                                  – Matthew 8:27

“For you shall go out in joy and be lead forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth with singing, and all of the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Isaiah 55:12

Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name; give to Him glorious praise!

All of the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”

Psalm 66:2&4

Think about the last time you were in awe of God’s creation. Perhaps it was on a glorious mountain top overlooking the endless green valley. Maybe you were standing on the seashore gazing at the vast ocean. God created all that we see (and don’t see) and He is worthy to be worshipped and adored. Take a moment today to recognize God’s powerful creation and thank Him for all that he has provided in your life.
