“But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” Luke 4:20
In this parable, Jesus talks about 4 different types of people who hear the message of Jesus. Each one has a different reaction based on where they are in life. Some hear the message and immediately reject it (those sown along the path), others hear the message and accept it, but when things get hard they fall away (those sown on rocky ground). Then there are those who hear the message but let this world and its desires pull them away (those sown among the thorns), and lastly there are the people who hear the message, accept it and bear fruit (those sown on good soil).
It’s interesting, the word that’s planted in good soil produces thirty, sixty, and even a hundredfold. Producing what exactly? A genuine desire to serve the Lord through good works. A life filled with acts of service and dedication to the God of Heaven’s Armies. Which one would you say you are?
