Mark 6

“And Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.’” Mark 6:4

Throughout God’s war manual, the bible,  we see instances where warrior prophets are not accepted in their own hometowns. The reason for this? Familiarity. In Mark 6, the people of Nazareth had known Jesus his whole life. They knew is mother, his father, and his brothers and sisters. Of course they couldn’t find any fault in his teaching or the miracles he performed, but they simply couldn’t get past the fact they knew him before his campaign to save the world. They thought they already knew exactly who Jesus was and couldn’t change their assumptions. Have you ever experienced this with someone? Have you shared the message of Jesus with someone who knew you before you accepted Christ as your Commander? Was it difficult to talk with them because of their preconceived notions of you? Pray God will give you the determination to keep going, even in the face of unbelief.
