Romans 16

“Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.” Romans 16:3-4

Paul had traveled many places and was part of many prominent church start-ups. During his journey, he met some very special people who would eventually become co-laborers. Two of these saints were a married couple named Aquila and Priscilla. This incredible duo worked with Paul as missionaries and were considered as “fellow workers in Christ Jesus.” Since they often traveled with Paul there’s no doubt they rejoiced together, cried together, and experienced persecution together.

It’s likely that Paul was excommunicated because of his Christian faith. During those moments, Paul felt extremely lonely. Thankfully God had given Paul this wonderful couple to work together. Through their many experiences they learned to treasure their friendship with one another.

In this inundated culture, it’s easy to overlook deep-rooted friendships that God has given to us. Living in a world where your time and energy is almost always consumed, we can easily be disconnected from the ones you love. Are you at a place where you feel isolated and disconnected? If so, reassess your life and consider all of your loved ones. Reach out and tell them you love them. May God give you the wisdom to appreciate those that care for you and want to see you flourish.
