2 Corinthians 6 – The Day of Salvation

“For he says, ‘In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.’” 2 Corinthians 6:2

How many times can you recall asking God for favor and God responded by granted it? Or how many times have you gotten on your knees to ask for wisdom and He provided abundantly?

God loves all of His creation and delights to help us. Let me ask you a thought provoking question. Does it really  matter if you have your heart’s desire, but not the most important gift: salvation of the soul. Although God is interested in helping mankind with their problems, He’s more interested in saving man from their sins, RIGHT NOW!

With this in mind, Paul writes, “Now is the accepted time, behold now is that day of salvation!” Paul stresses the NOW part because no man is ever promised tomorrow. Although God has been gracious to offer you salvation TODAY, you may not have tomorrow to accept it.

Have you been asking God to help you but have never asked Him to save you? If so, today is the only appropriate day to do so for “no man knows what tomorrow brings.” Today is the day of salvation.
