John 15

John 15

“I am the true vine and My Father is the vineyard keeper.  Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He removes, and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.  You are already clean because of the Word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.”  John 15:1-4

The United States was originally found on Christian principles. It’s very common for children to identify themselves as Christians because their parents are Christians. The tenants of Christianity are all around us. It is easily observed at our nation’s capital and even on our national currency where it says “In God We Trust.”

Many confessing Christians look like the world, act like the world, and in many ways are governed by the world. This is extremely alarming as the Bible clearly teaches that “the world is at enmity with God.” Since the world is at enmity with God, then the world is an enemy to the Christian. Does that make sense?

We should examine our own lives to determine whether we’re bearing the fruits of God or those of the world. After all, “Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Luke 3:9). May God give us the wisdom to follow Jesus’ Gospel and pursue His spirit. So in the last days we may remain in in the salvation of our great God.
