Luke 10

The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.” Luke 10:16

Our Commander, Jesus has given each person a calling. Each person that answers that call is given a life mission. We are His soldier, His ambassador (2 Cor. 5:10), His child in a royal Kingdom. When we are out conducting the Lord’s business and representing Him in this dark and broken world, why are we taken aback when we encounter criticism? We are told in 1 John 3:13 that we “shouldn’t be surprised that the world hates you”. We have been recruited and selected as elite soldiers with intelligence from the Commander of the Universe to share His Message of Hope and recruit others to join forces with us. But what if they refuse? People may say it is too difficult and challenging. Any good soldier is willing to be set apart and be an example of who they represent – their homeland, their leader, their fellow comrades. The same should be said of us as Christians. We are Christ’s representatives. Every day we should honorably represent our homeland – Heaven, our leader – Jesus Christ and our fellow comrades – all other Christians. If we are ridiculed or even hated for our MOS (military occupational specialty), it is not because of us, it is because of WHO we represent. Don’t take it personal. Jesus forces all people to make a personal decision. He makes us answer hard question such as: Is God real? Is there right and wrong? Am I really a sinner in need of a Savior? The answer given determines one’s eternal address and that can make people feel extremely uncomfortable. If you are coming under criticism, take heart and be encouraged. Share the Gospel of Truth and let other see it through your actions as God works in and through you like a light on a hill.
