Ephesians 1

Ephesians 1 – A Thankful Heart

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” Ephesians 1:16

Modern-day society has become self-centric. People are so focused on what they can obtain or what they’ll achieve. The philosophy of “Me first, everyone else second” seems to reign. It’s an obsession found too often within the youth today. Unfortunately, this type of ideology tends to lead to an ungrateful heart.

Paul was a founder of the Ephesian church. Due to his close relationship, he’d became fond of the people there.  After being absent for some time, he was compelled to write this letter. In it, we not only find a list of rich doctrine, but also find Paul’s thankfulness for the Lord’s people who communed there. From what we gather, there is no doubt the Ephesians shared the same love and appreciation for him. After all, Paul was like a father to them.

How is your relationship with God? Do you have a thankful heart? God loves to hear our gratitude. It should be in our weekly tasks; not only to pray for the needs we may have, but also to thank God for all the blessings. Unfortunately, much of our society forgets to be thankful. Instead of focusing on what is wrong, find time to thank God for all that is right!
